Growing up in Soweto, she always believed she was destined to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. When she joined the Empowering Girls Programme in 2021, she was immediately drawn to its mission of empowering and uplifting young women.
"I knew something great was going to come from it."
Today, she is studying Foundation Phase Education at the University of Johannesburg, inspired by a passion for shaping young minds during the most important years of their development. She believes every child deserves to grow up in an environment built on respect, equality and opportunity, and hopes to nurture a generation where girls and boys are valued equally.
One of the greatest gifts she gained through the programme was quiet confidence.
"I don't walk into a room demanding respect. I walk in knowing I have something meaningful to contribute."
Alongside confidence, she developed emotional intelligence, qualities that have helped her become a student tutor at the University of Johannesburg, where she now supports and mentors fellow students.
She also hopes to be a voice for every girl who has ever been told she is "doing too much," encouraging young women to embrace who they are and never apologise for dreaming big.
Looking back on her journey, the message she would give her younger self is simple:
"I believe in you. I'm making you proud every single day."
Her story reminds us that confidence isn't about being the loudest voice in the room. It's about believing in yourself, embracing your purpose and having the courage to use your voice to make a difference.
